POSITION SUMMARY:
To assist Lead Tech with service and installation of high-end communication, cable infrastructures and enhance jobsite productivity. Help build out technology systems which encompass voice, data, and video over copper, fiber optics and wireless cabling.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and direct crews to complete job based on plan and budget.
- Must have physical stamina sufficient to perform construction type work such as: lifting and carrying approximately 100 pounds, bending, stooping, pulling, climbing in and around construction equipment, up and down ladders and in and out of ditches.
- Demonstrate high integrity, honesty, and trust.
- Must have working knowledge of BICSI standards and installation methods of information transport media.
- Working knowledge of copper data cable. Fiber optic, and coax termination and testing
- Ability to with wireless installation, A/V systems, and access control and CCTV.
- Provide physical labor to install voice, data, and video cabling.
- Be safety conscious and abide by company safety policies.
- Read, understand, and follow the company policies and procedures.
- Able to read construction print and other job-related documentation.
- Oral and written skills and ability to communicate with other workers, craftsmen, and other trades.
- Able to work with basic hand tools i.e.; screw driver, electric drill, etc.
- Must possess certain hand tools needed to complete jobs effectively.
- Administration and recordkeeping – timecards, change orders, material delivery, truck tickets, plan review/verification, scheduling, equipment rental/return, etc.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 Year previous experience working as a Cable Technician
- Possess industry certifications such as BICSI, CommScope, CNCI, NCTI, etc.
- High School Graduate or GED
- Must have own transportation to and from work sites.
- Able to follow directions and work independently.
- Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to pass a level 3 background check.
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Able to lift 90 lbs.
- Able to move on and off ladders safely.
- Good range of motion with shoulders, elbows, knees, legs, arms, and waist. Will lift cable, place cable overhead, go up and down ladders and stairs all day.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work off ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
