You will play a key role in the build out of technology systems that encompass voice, data, and video over Copper, Fiber optics and wireless.

Job Information

The Project Manager is responsible for driving Americom Projects to a profitable conclusion that meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers.  They act as liaison between sales, operations, and the customer on all projects.  The project manager has complete responsibility for the profitability of their respective projects. Specific responsibilities include:

Job Skills
  • Drive project profitability through safe, efficient and effective use of available resources.
  • Ensure timely identification, preparation, submittal, and customer approval of project change orders and, when appropriate, working with associate Sales Account Manager.
  • Make certain all applicable safety standards are observed and enforced, taking immediate corrective action when and where necessary.
  • Ensure accurate project status is communicated to Customer.
  • Accurately project completion date, cost and billing on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure complete understanding of scope for assigned projects through hand-off meetings, document reviews, site walk-throughs, etc.
  • Ensure employee time documentation accurately reflects actual hours worked, and is associated with the correct project for costing purposes.
  • Ensure any necessary submittals, as-builds, and other documentation is delivered in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Accurately estimate Time, Value, and Money
  • Mentor and train field level employees to help them progress in their career.
  • Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and integrity in representing Americom Technology.
  • Will need to adapt to new and different situations and be able to take direction with positive results.
  • Have the ability to create, understand, and develop technical writing with grammatical efficiency.
  • Keep current on advancements in technology and industry standards.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented with the ability to multi task with information coming from multiple resources.
  • Must be able to decipher information from multiple sources, and communicate information back to numerous parties.
  • Communicate effectively with Senior Management, Sales Team, Operations, and support staff, informing and updating regularly to ensure that sales and customer objectives are met or exceeded.
Qualifications:
 
  • Must be comfortable using MS word to draft letters and other associated communications.
  • Must be able to effectively use MS Excel to manipulate data and create spreadsheets that include formulas for accounting purposes.
  • Must understand how to effectively use MS Outlook to categorize and prioritize communication and tasks.
  • Must have strong technical understanding of construction processes and coordination.
  • Must have strong technical understanding of Information Transport Systems (ITS) and related communication technologies.
  • Must be comfortable negotiating contracts and change orders with decision makers from other companies.
  • Must have demonstrated experience managing individuals and project teams. Prior knowledge of Telecommunications/Outside Plant Construction related to Utilities desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret various construction drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications
  • Knowledge in construction based programs a plus.
  • Valid State motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Ability to perform analysis of data and run accurate calculations.
