Technical Sales Specialist – Low Voltage Technology and Information Services

Local Company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Technology Sale Specialist (TSS). We are a premier technology services provider in the western region providing structure cable systems, audio video solutions, access controls, close circuit tv solutions, network, unified communication, and desktop support, wireless solutions, and all low voltages application solutions.

The TSS will be a part of our sales team. This position will bring a vast array of experience and knowledge to the sales process by providing technical support for the sales team. The TSS will work closely with our Business Development team and Account Executives to discover the client needs and the use of business application to save the customer time and money. The TSS will define a scope of work, to address the requirements for a project. The TSS will oversee the estimating team on budgeting for products and services to provide solutions for the scope of work and the customer needs.

 

The TSS performs essential functions to ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality service and establishes and maintains effective communication with all entities involved in the sale process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the sales team from the start of each customer engagement to support the sale process by providing technical input to solutions this is in alignment with the client’s expectation for a success result.
  • Read and understand project plans, bid documents, and contracts
  • Create list of expectations, requirement, applications, issue, challenges, processes, solutions to monitor and track progress which identifies the sequences and activities needed to successfully meet the client expectations.
  • Collaborate with the client and other stakeholders
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors on scopes of work for pricing and schedules.
  • Select, measure and track important sales metrics and milestones
  • Visit job sites, attend and participate in pre-construction meetings, other project progress meetings as necessary, company supervisor and production meetings to insure there is a seamless transition from the sales to operations.
  • Perform analysis of collected data and metrics
  • Analyze job cost reports with project managers to insure project success
  • Conduct job risk analysis and build this risk into pricing models for sales
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with field personnel supervisors, key vendors, public and private jurisdictions, subcontractors, owners etc.
  • Effectively communicate and maintain relationships with Clients, Management, Superintendents, Subcontractors, Vendors, Partners, and other trades to ensure project schedule and budget are met
  • Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information. Present project status to sales team. Escalate critical issues to management as needed.
  • Collaborate with Sales team to define the production forecast and demand flow for new projects.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of project goals using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Participate in project financial reviews and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Communicate with suppliers and clients with any unforeseen issues or changes
  • Must continually advance knowledge of current and upcoming construction practices and industry standards
  • Provide appropriate field documentation, photo logs, graphs and sketches for various projects
  • Be constantly aware of project closeout and be able to identify and mitigate risks as they are presented that could negatively impact any aspect of project closeout with the customer

  • Must be able to read project plans/schematics etc., construction contracts, specifications, subcontracts and other construction documents.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain business relationships – including working effectively with owners, engineers, co-workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle history record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Basic computer skills, to maintain project logs and reports, Excel, Word, Office 365, Team, Share Point, CRM, Blue Beam, Auto Cad, Internet etc.
  • ALL employees must pass a Level 4 background check
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening (will be subject to random drug screenings)
  • Must be able to work long hours and be there for the team
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions to include construction and industrial sites.

This is a full-time position, with the requirement of a high school diploma or GED as a minimum. A capable candidate would also possess one or more of the following credentials: Register Communications Distribution Design (RCDD), Project Manager Professional (PMP), Construction Management (CM), Facilities Management (FM), Electrical Engineer (BSE).
