Americom Technologies Inc. is looking for A highly motivated individual to join our team as an underground utility’s Construction Manager. Americom is the premier utility construction services provider in the western region providing directional drilling, plowing, trenching, spider plowing, hydro excavation, micro trenching, fast fusion, fiber optics and general underground utility construction.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Lead and direct multiple outside plant construction crews and projects. Responsible to keep projects on time and profitable.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Preconstruction meetings with sales & project management team.
  • Blue Stakes- initial call in & forward to Admin.
  • Position will require 90% field work- 10% office work.
  • Drive project profit.
  • Gather information for change orders- pass on to Project Managers & Sales
  • Enforcing safety on the jobsites. corrective action
  • Understanding SOW and schedules for the project
  • Ensure Smartsheet's are updated daily.
  • Field as-builts & sent to Project Manager for electronic final.
  • Mentor & train superintendents.
  • Keeping up with and understanding customer standards
  • PM will do initial material order- additional POs requested by CM
  • Occasional out of town travel required
  • Control/report the Per-diem and days associated with the project based on estimate.
  • Holding superintendents accountable for daily responsibilities, i.e.: JHA, Dailies, DVIR, incident reports, Smartsheet's, 2 party verification forms, confined space, excavation report, time entry, employee write ups
  • Green horn review and sign offs
  • Assist in employee feedback/ evaluations
  • Promote good catch and poker chip program
  • Responsible for quality check on projects, customer close out and final walk through
  • Equipment and truck inspections
  • Double check crew size to match estimated/ need of the project

 

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Competent person certificates with MSHA and OSHA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Foreman or Superintendent role
  • Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices.
  • Knowledge of MS office specifically Work and Excel
  • Basic accounting knowledge with understanding in job costing
  • Great problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal setting and conflict management.
  • Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess class A CDL
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Able to pass a level 4 background check.
  • Maintains financial security by assisting in the monitoring of internal controls.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Must be customer oriented: ability to take care of the customer while following company procedures.
