JOB SUMMARY 

Americom Technology is seeking a Fiber Splicer – Data Center to support fiber optic installation, splicing, termination, and testing on data center projects in and around the Salt Lake City area. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Perform single and ribbon fiber optic fusion splicing, termination, and installation.
• Prepare and splice single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables.
• Install fiber cables, patch panels, enclosures, and structured cabling systems. 
• Test and troubleshoot fiber connections using OTDRs and related equipment. 
• Read construction drawings, fiber assignments, and cable schedules. 
• Maintain accurate labeling, testing documentation, and cable management. 
• Follow safety procedures and meet project quality standards. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on fiber optic installation, termination, or splicing experience. 
• Familiarity with fusion splicing equipment, fiber preparation tools, and testing procedures.
• Basic understanding of fiber optic cables, connectors, and structured cabling.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and construction drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork. 

​​​​​​​PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Data center or critical infrastructure project experience.
• Ribbon fiber splicing and high-count fiber cable experience.
• OTDR and optical loss testing experience.
• Relevant fiber optic or BICSI certifications. ​​​​​​​

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Ability to perform physical construction work, use ladders, handle specialized tools, and lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance or equipment as appropriate. Reasonable accommodations are available in accordance with applicable law.
